Tracking the S/V CarolMarie from San Diego to Ko'Olina, Oahu

According to the Transpac 2021 website there are 60 ships attempting to to sail this year from Southern California to Honolulu.  Another site I found showed there were roughly 250 non-military ships that came in from all over the world yearly to Oahu.  Interestingly, on any given year a little over 500 people climb Mount Everest.  Thus it's easy to say the number of Captains/Skipper who venture to Oahu every year is far less that the number of people to climb Mount Everest.

We are one week away from leaving as I write this.  We've chosen to leave on May 5th at 5:00am.  Seeing that the sum of the digits in the year 2021 is 5, we'll cast off on the sum of the 5th year, fifth month, fifth day at the fifth hour - 5-5-5-5.  Must be some luck in that somewhere.

Update - we are now leaving on Thursday May 6th at 7:00am.  So we leaving 5th month, 6th day on the 7th hour.  That's gotta be lucky.  We needing to wait an extra day for the storm offshore to clear.

Our crew and I will be busy over the next seven days with little access to the internet so while I have the chance I thought I would drop off the tracking website for our trip.  We're using a Garmin In Reach Mini as the tracker, and our web-linked map is

The tracker is on now, and will be until we reach Oahu safely.
